“ If there is one constant in sub-Saharan Africa, particularly Central Africa, it is that everything needs to be redone, especially in terms of infrastructure. The development models inherited from colonisation are showing their limitations and need to be radically overhauled. Imagine that in the 21st century, outdated practices such as children breaking stones by hand to supply building sites or the more affluent using shovels to extract sand, as champion Francis NGANOU did, or even diving for aggregates at the risk of their lives, are still commonplace. A real economic model cannot be built on such practices, and that requires an industrial aggregate production system in harmony with its environment and integrated logistics (rail, river and road). In response to these issues, MATCO (Matériaux & Construction Sarl) was created in 2018 to provide solutions through arange of services and products, and to make a lasting contribution to the emergence of African states.
